Photo 1/1
The Bent Pyramid erected by Sneferu, the first pharaoh of the 4th dynasty, predecessor (and also possibly the father) of Cheops (Khufu). This pyramid (the second built by the ruler) marks the turning point in the transition from the previously constructed step pyramids to the “smooth-sided” or “canonical-shaped” pyramids. This type would become the standard for later pyramids. Due to a long exposure time, the photograph is very light.
